Danny Sager

Daniel Sager is currently in his first year as a full-time Academic Coordinator, working with Men’s Tennis, Rowing, Women’s Gymnastics, and Women’s Soccer, while also overseeing the Tutorial Program.  This will be his seventh year overall with Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS), previously serving as a Learning Specialist/Tutorial Coordinator for one year, a graduate assistant for two years, a student assistant for two years, and a tutor for one year.  He has also been a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) for four years, attending various conferences on the regional and national level.  In addition to his work with SASS, Daniel is highly involved in the East Lansing and Lansing Communities, serving both as an SAT math tutor for high school student-athletes as a part of APEX Academy Lansing, and a goalie coach for youth hockey teams in East Lansing.
 

Daniel earned his Master’s Degree from Michigan State in Sports Administration, as well as his undergraduate degree in Education with a concentration in mathematics.  While working on his undergraduate degree, Daniel was a member of the MSU ACHA Men’s Division II club hockey team during his freshman and sophomore year while the team finished as a national semifinalist and finalist in that two-year span.  During his senior year, Danny was nominated for the Michigan State University student employee of the year award for his work as a student assistant with Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS).


Originally from Livonia, Michigan, Daniel comes from a large Michigan State family, having siblings, parents, and extended family members all having graduated from MSU.  In his down time, Daniel enjoys attending and supporting MSU student-athletes at their athletic events, playing hockey, trying new restaurants in the community, and spending time with family and friends.
