A native of New Orleans, LA, Jeremy Thomas will be entering his first year as a member of the MSU Student Athlete Support Services department. Prior to joining MSU he worked in academic support at Louisiana State University and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Jeremy brings a set of unique and diverse skills to the SASS department which he honed during his time as the Director of Community Relations for the Miami Marlins AAA Affiliate, an Economic Development Advisor in the rainforest of Suriname, South America; and an TESOL instructor in Madrid, Spain.

Jeremy is an active member of N4A and a 2017 graduate of the N4A Professional Development Institute. Throughout his career Jeremy has displayed a passion for uplifting the lives of young men and women. In his new role, he will be providing mentoring and academic support to the Football positions with football as well as the Cross Country and Track & Field student athletes.

Jeremy has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a Master’s Degree in Business from Arkansas State.  While at ULL he was a member of the baseball team for 2 years. He plans to pursue his Ph.D. in Kinesiology from MSU, focusing on the psychosocial aspects of sport and physical activity.

Academic Philosophy: I believe that if we focus on enhancing the moral character of student-athletes they will not only acquire the skills and discipline to live successful lives, but will also positively impacting on their communities.
