Alternative Testing Guidelines

Alternative testing is available to those with a documented disability affecting performance on tests (i.e.,extended time, separate quiet testing room, reader/scribe, assistive technology, etc.). Students with documented disabilities requiring some form of accommodation receive a Verified Individualized Services and Accommodations (VISA) document which displays verified testing accommodations when appropriate.

In most cases, students should be required to take a test in the same classroom at the same time with the other students. If an accommodation demands the exam be administered in a place other than the regular exam site, efforts should be made to provide a setting free from interruptions and distractions. If an appropriate testing site can not be arranged by the instructor, the student may reserve an alternative testing room by calling the RCPD at 353-9642 ext. 221 at least one week before regular exams and two weeks before final exams:
