Events Intern, Sports Market
The Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau is seeking an intern to assist our Sports Authority division in promoting Greater Lansing as a destination for sporting events. The intern will assist with:
- Planning and execution of events such as March Magic Hoopfest and the Capital City Half Marathon
- On-site event assistance
- Event research
- Gathering information about local sports facilities
- Collecting proposals and organizing bid packets
- Web site updates
- Interaction with local hotels
- Other duties as needed
We are seeking an energetic candidate with a desire to learn and assist in the Bureau’s success. The ideal candidate will be a student whose goal is to have a career in sports development, hospitality, event planning or related field. Experience in any of these areas is desired. The position requires approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Qualified candidates may send cover letter and resume to employment@lansing.org.
