Student-Athlete Development Program
Student-Athlete Support Services dedicates the Student-Athlete Development program to developing the student-athlete as a whole person. This program is designed to build upon the values and structure of the NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills program. It enhances the student-athlete in five areas: community services and outreach, career development, personal development, academic excellence, and athletic excellence. Each area is detailed in nature to meet the individual needs of each student-athlete.
Academic Excellence Gala
This semi-formal event honors the accomplishments and successes of our student-athletes in the classroom and in the community.
During the event, awards presented will honor student-athletes with a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above, the top male and female graduating seniors, two outstanding freshmen, the men’s and women’s teams with the highest GPA, outstanding community service and leadership, and multicultural leadership. Community Service and Outreach/PACT Program
The Community Outreach program allows students to gain valuable
experience, learn new skills and develop a sense of involvement that will stay with them throughout their life. Continued

Personal Development
SASS works closely with the athletic department sports medicine staff to implement a variety of workshops and provide services to help with personal issues. Continued
SAAC
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a leadership committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. The SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes' lives on NCAA member institution campuses. Continued
