Elliott Daniels enters his seventh year working at Student-Athlete Support Services serving as Associate Director of SASS. In this capacity, he assists the Associate Athletic Director and Director of Academic Services with the overall management and daily operation of the SASS Unit and administers academic services for both Men’s Basketball and Football programs. Responsibilities include implementing academic programming and monitoring academic progress for at-risk and good standing student-athletes, ensuring that all student-athletes receive effective and efficient services. With this, he has oversight of learning disability services, full-time staff, graduate assistants and interns.
Daniels also serves as Assistant to the Chair on MSU’s Athletic Council and is an active member of various organizations including National Association of Collegiate Director’s of Athletics (NACDA), Minority Opportunities Athletic Administration (MOAA) and National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).
A native of Chicago, Ill., Daniels attended Eastern Michigan University where he played football. A three-year letter winner (1999-2001), Daniels was one of the top scholars on the team, being awarded numerous Athletic Director Honor Roll awards while earning a spot on the All-MAC Academic Team three times. He earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Management from EMU in April of 2003 and completed a Master’s of Science in Sports Administration from MSU in June of 2005.
