Angela Montie enters her fifteenth year as Director of Student-Athlete Development. Montie has worked for Student-Athlete Support Services for twenty years and has served as academic coordinator to the men's and women's golf, gymnastics and tennis teams, field hockey, rowing, women's basketball and men’s ice hockey.

As the Director of Student-Athlete Development, Montie is charged with providing opportunities in the areas of Career Development, Leadership Development, Community Service and Outreach, and Awards & Recognition for the 25 sports and over 750 student-athletes at Michigan State University.  Through her work, MSU has received national recognition from the National Consortium for Academics & Sport for the number of events conducted and the number of youth reached through the Putting Athletes and Community Together (PACT) outreach program.

Montie received her bachelor's degree in business and psychology from Michigan State in 1995 and added an MBA in marketing in 1997. As a member of the Spartan women's gymnastics team, she was a four-time Academic All-American (1991-92,'94-95) by the Gymnastics Coaches Association and a 1994 GTE/CoSida second team Academic All-American.

Montie also serves on The Joey Spano Endowment Advisory Board and Brandon’s Defense Foundation.  She received Michigan State University's Outstanding Staff Award in Spring 2009 and the 2011 Nell Jackson Outstanding Alumna Award from the Varsity Alumni 'S' Club.
