The goal of the Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS) Tutorial Program is to provide effective tutorial services for Michigan State University (MSU) student-athletes. Tutors employed through SASS are qualified individuals who possess proven academic backgrounds, foster strong study habits and organization skills, helping the tutors to provide academic guidance for student-athletes. SASS provides a wide range of tutorial services including individual and group sessions and course specific tutorial appointments, all in a structured study environment. SASS is committed to providing services that are in compliance with all NCAA, BIG TEN and MSU guidelines for academic integrity and ethical behaviors.

You must submit by email to tutor(at)sass.msu.edu or in person at the Clara Bell Smith Center, the following items:

Faculty/Staff Recommendation Form (PDF)
(Must be from a Michigan State University Faculty, Staff or Teaching Assistant)

Personal Statement - One page personal statement describing

A. How you learned of this position 
B. Any prior tutoring or teaching experiences
C. Personal and professional qualities relevant to this position

 

Unofficial Transcript - A current unofficial transcript downloaded from SIS is preferred
